The University of Nebraska is an amazing place. From 8am classes to a 6pm game day, there is no better way to spend your college years surrounded by fun and friends! Living in the Kappa Delta Pi Chapter house is an amazing opportunity, a constant thrill, and an invigorating experience! Alongside 71 sisters, there is never a dull moment in our home (like a slumber party every night)! With new renovations, there is a place for anything and everything in the house. Studying? Of course. Movie night? Absolutely. Random dance parties? You bet. We even have a spacious green space next to our house for spending time outside on a sunny Nebraska day!
Personally, when searching for my second home, I could not imagine a more beautiful one than Kappa Delta Pi. Being from western Nebraska, I missed homely comforts, company and love, but since moving into KD, I don’t have to go very far to find all three! In the mornings, I can wake up and be greeted by smiling faces. During the day, I can expect home-cooked meals and snacks from Stephanie, Heidi and Joann, our wonderful cooks. And if I am ever seeking guidance or help, I know that our house mom, Sherry, will always be ready to take care of me.
Kappa Delta Pi’s chapter house has some unique features that set it apart! On our second floor, we have open air sleeping dorms. Each room on this floor holds as many as four desks, closets and dressers and some even a daybed! The lucky girls living in these rooms have their beds in the sleeping dorm; a room with separated nooks, each nook holding only four bunk beds. These nooks are separated by walls allowing each bed to have a charging station, storage shelf, and lower drawers. If the sleeping dorms don’t appeal to you, you can choose from our third-floor rooms which host beds inside of the rooms as well desks, closets, and dressers! Both floors have been renovated in the last few years and each feature gorgeous rooms.
Living in Kappa Delta is an unforgettable experience. To be surrounded by my absolute best friends, to have the campus on my doorstep and to live in our perfect home is an experience I will cherish for a lifetime. I have made silly, emotional, ridiculous and unforgettable memories at 405 University Terrace that remind me every day how precious love and friendship really are.
